EVS Media Infrastructure was formerly Axon Digital Design which was one of a rare breed of technology pioneering companies. From its base in the Netherlands, Axon had grown to become a global leader in broadcast network infrastructure products and solutions. Today, EVS Media Infrastructure Solutions have embraced the Axon heritage and merged with the EVS brand.

An almost obsessive focus on customer support and a targeted product strategy spanning two decades has resulted in a list of loyal customers that would be the envy of any technology vendor.

What sets EVS Media Infrastructure solutions apart from other providers? The 25 years of Axon’s history has witnessed seismic changes in the broadcast industry; from analogue to digital, 4:3 to widescreen, standard definition to high definition, 2D to 3D, linear passive to fully interactive and now the growing trend towards multi-platform distribution, second screen applications and connected TV.

Throughout all of these evolutions, Axon had pioneered new enabling technologies that empower customers. In each of its three core product areas: Synapse modular AV processing (including multiview, master control and routing), Cerebrum monitoring & control system and Neuron, the industry’s most advanced Network Attached Processor, Axon had delivered new levels of performance by harnessing the latest technical innovations and maintaining a razor-sharp focus on customer needs. As a result, EVS Media Infrastructure Solutions provides its customers with the capability to differentiate their products and services. For many, Cerebrum, Synapse and Neuron makes the difference. We understand what makes our customers’ businesses tick and can provide solutions that are not just fit for purpose at hand, but are also uniquely adapted to the application – from live production to play-out and master control.

COMING SOON from EVS is the fully integrated SDN for Cerebrum, the world’s most popular Broadcast Control System. The new SDN will be sold as a license option for Cerebrum adding to the already extensive toolset available with Cerebrum.

This powerful combination will allow existing environments to easily migrate to IP, providing a single user interface for true hybrid operation.

In addition, the use of this SDN in a broadcast multi-site environment will allow for seamless workflows between sites whilst maintaining resilience and security for today’s media IP infrastructure.
